Introduction
Muxen is one app for all your machines: the Macs, Linux boxes, Windows PCs and cloud servers you work on, for you and your AI agents.
From one window you run AI agents and shells on any of your machines, see and use their screens, open their dev servers in your browser, follow their logs, look after their services and containers, move files between them, work on your GitHub issues there, and run commands on several at once or on a schedule. Your AI agents can do all of it too, through MCP or the command line.
How it works
Muxen runs on your computer and reaches each of your machines with your own ssh: the keys and ~/.ssh/config you already have. There's no account and no server of ours in between.

The first time you use a machine for more than a check, Muxen copies its small agent there (a few MB, in ~/.muxen). The agent keeps agent sessions running when you close the app, shows the machine's screen, lists its services and ports, and runs your schedules. Muxen keeps it up to date.
Muxen talks to the agent over one ssh connection it keeps open. You can pair a machine for a direct connection instead: faster, especially for desktops, and still only between your computer and your machine.
What you can do
- Agent sessions: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Amp, Pi or a shell, kept running on the machine.
- Desktops: watch a machine's screen and take the mouse and keyboard.
- Servers: open a machine's dev server at
localhoston your computer. - Logs, services and Docker: read logs live, start and stop services, containers and Compose projects.
- VMs: make a Windows or Linux VM on a machine you have, use it, and destroy it.
- Schedules: a command or an agent session that runs at set times, even with Muxen closed.
- GitHub and workspaces: hand an issue to an agent in a fresh checkout.
- For AI agents: everything above, through MCP and the CLI.
Platforms
The app runs on macOS (12 or later), Linux and Windows 11. The machines it manages are Macs, Linux machines and Windows PCs you can reach with ssh: on your desk, in the cloud, or across Tailscale.
